Partners across Canada who support #ConnectAMillion

Let’s raise awareness about the growing issue of social isolation! With over 1.7 million seniors living alone in Canada, the risk of social isolation is real and can lead to reduced quality of life and earlier mortality.
Social isolation can emerge from many sources affecting one’s quality of life. Examples of factors that may lead to the onset of social isolation include a lack of a local family and friends, health conditions, depression, mental illness, fear of falling, chronic pain, shame over memory problems, or becoming nervous about driving. As a result of these factors, older adults may be alone for days or even weeks without someone contact with them.
You can support the #ConnectAMillion initiative by connecting with a senior in your community. You can share your story or photo on social media with the #happipad and #ConnectAMillion tags.
