Happipad teams up with Seniors Outreach & Resource Centre to help seniors share their homes.
About a quarter of seniors aged 65 or over are living alone, but a new partnership between a Kelowna-based startup company and a local seniors centre is looking to change that.
Happipad is pleased to announce an official partnership with the Seniors Outreach & Resource Centre to provide home-sharing solutions to seniors across the Okanagan. Home-sharing is a living arrangement in which two or more unrelated people live together in a shared dwelling. Launched in August 2019, Happipad has created Canada’s first online platform helping people find compatible roommates to live with in shared living arrangements.
Through this partnership, seniors in the Okanagan will be able to share their home using Happipad’s technology platform with additional support from the Seniors Outreach & Resource Centre. This extra support can include assistance with technology use and regular check ins with the senior. The goal of the partnership is to make it safe and easy for seniors to rent their rooms out and enjoy extra companionship.
